| If you want to capture a screen shot, there can be many possible scenarios and respective methods to capture the screenshot. Discussed below are few possible scenarios and methods. Capturing Entire DesktopIf tyou want to capture the entire desktop, press Command + Shift + 3 keys on your keyboard together. The screen shot will be saved automatically on your desktop as a .png file. Capturing A Portion Of DesktopIf you wish to capture only a portion of desktop, press Command + Shift + 4 keys to. When these keys are pressed, a cross- hair cursor will appear on the screen. It allows the user to select the area of his choice. Once the user releases the mouse button, the selected screen shot is captured and automatically saved on the user desktop as a .png file. Capturing A Particular Application WindowIf you wish to capture a particular application window instead of his/ her desktop, the user needs to press Command + Shift + 4 keys in combination and then he should press Space bar. The cursor will change to a camera and the user can move the cursor anywhere on the screen. Once the cursor is on the desired application window, he would just press the cursor and the whole application window will be saved automatically on the user desktop as a .png file. Placing The Captured Image On The ClipboardIn case the user wishes to place the captured image on the clipboard instead of being saved on the desktop, he/ she just needs to add control key to the shortcuts described above. For example, if we press Command + Shift +3, the entire desktop is copied on the user desktop.
