The job of an antivirus application is to prevent the system from being infected. A number of applications are available for this purpose but each one of them has positive and negative factors.

AVAST Antivirus Home Edition

In terms of the interface design, it is an undoubted fact that AVAST surpasses AVG antivirus. The interface used in the latest edition of AVG offers noting innovative or different and the basic structure is the same as the previous versions of the application. The interface can be termed as outdated and usual. Normally users search for something new in the updated version of an application. However AVG fails to complete these demands. Comparatively AVAST provides a very friendly user interface that is easy to use. Secondly, it is interactive and designed with a bright color combination. The scanning duration taken by AVAST is lesser than the AVG antivirus application. It is quite irritating to wait for hours while the antivirus application is being hanged and no other application can be used.

AVG Antivirus 9.06

AVG is more effective and result oriented as compared to AVAST antivirus application. It takes a longer duration to scan the system and detect the infected files, but its success rate is more than AVAST. An antivirus application is useless if even a single infected file is left in the system. These files then begin to multiply and the whole scanning process has to be executed again. In case of AVAST, users have complained that the quick scanning process compromises on the level of quality. Thus in this case, the preference rate for AVG antivirus application is higher. AVG antivirus application requires lesser memory for installation as compared to AVAST home edition. In this case, the installation of AVG does not slow down the system speed or decline the processor performance in any manner.
